Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation

is a forward looking, progressive First Nation located in north central Saskatchewan (72 km north west of Prince Albert) and has a total registered population of 3,100 with approximately 1600 residents on reserve. Ahtahkakoop has a very young population with 60% of its members under 25 years of age.

Ahtahkakoop’s land base consists of 43,000 acres with an option of acquiring upward to an additional 34,500 acres through its Treaty Land Entitlement (TLE) process.

Ahtahkakoop has all services and good infrastructure including 500 housing units, K-12 high school, Daycare Centre, Health Centre, recreation facilities, paved road, RCMP Detachment, high speed internet, cellular service, etc.

Existing Business Operations

of ACD consist of a gas and grocery store, a gas and confectionery store, a deli, and a tire shop. ACD also provides management and accounting services to the First Nation under contract for several community service initiatives. Current operations of ACD provide 25 full-time and 10 seasonal positions.
